Which Difference in Performance?
The 2018 Civic standard engine is a 2.0-liter I-4 unit delivering 158 horsepower and138 lb-ft of torque with the automatic CVT transmission. You can instead choose the 1.5-liter turbo I-4 with up to 205 horsepower and 192 lb-ft. The larger Accord comes standard with a 1.5-liter turbo-4 outputting 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque with the CVT automatic. The optional engine is the 2.0-liter turbo-4 with 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft. The Accord Hybrid brings together a 2.0-liter I-4 engine with an AC synchronous electric motor to produce 212 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque.
What’s the Difference in Appearance and Dimenstions?
The Civic is shorter than the Accord, and has a shorter wheelbase. The Accord sits 1.4 inches higher and weighs about 400 pounds more than the Civic. The turning diameter of the Civic is 35.7 feet, and 38.1 feet for the Accord. The Accord has a larger interior, with 1.6 cubic feet of extra trunk space and 7.7 more cubic feet of passenger space, but the Civic Hatchback has an impressive 46.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity.
